The initial phase of Mardi Himal Trek starts from renowned valley Pokhara. Sightseeing in Pokhara valley is like icing on a cake for this trek. Short and sweet walk along Phewa Lake followed by boating towards Tal Barahi Temple, a famous Hindu temple situated in the middle of the Lake can be a great start for this trek.

Actual trek begins from Phedi which is about half an hour driving distance from lakeside Pokhara. Our top main priority for this day is to enjoy a delightful walk to Pothana village. We’ll see traditional terrace farming practices in villages of the hilly region in Nepal along with a walkthrough rhododendron forests blended with floras like pine and juniper. We will be blessed with the first stunning views of snowcapped peaks of Annapurna Himalayan Range. We are here in Pothana village to stay overnight and continue our trek the next day.

We will continue our trek from Pothana village to forest camp and end our day by halting in a guest house in the forest camp. During this section of the trek, we will climb uphill taking pleasure of fresh air with the amazing views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range. We may see wildlife like monkey, deer, and leopard luck stays by our side.

The next day, we start ascending up to Badal Dada. As we ascend up, we can feel the vegetation growing thinner and thinner. The birch, oak, and rhododendron trees are slowly replaced by fern trees, lichens, and mosses. As we pass the forest, we can catch a glimpse of Himalayan panorama through the gaps in between the trees which is truly an amazing experience. As we reach Badal Dada, we can see some admirable views of mountains with the sensual breeze blowing on the Dada. We will stay overnight at a guesthouse in Badal Dada.

Our next destination is High Camp. Our journey for the day is quite short but full of adventure. On the way, we will witness some glorious views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Khangsar and Tare Kang. As we reach the High camp, we enjoy our lunch and rest for the remaining day.

Following day we wake up early in the morning under the backdrop of beautiful Himalayas. The glorious sunrise amidst the Himalayan panorama is spectacular. We take our breakfast and get set for our climb to Mardi Himal Base Camp which rises tall at the height of 4500m. Though exciting, our climb can be quite challenging. We walk along the narrow and rocky trails but the climb will be worth it. The fantastic views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Hiunchuli, Kang, Khangsar, and Macchapucchre from the top is rewarding. After reaching the top and applauding the beauty of mountains, we descend down to the High Camp for overnight stay.

We retrace our journey back from high camp and descend down to the Low Base Camp and pass the dense forest to Mardi Khola. We further walk through beautiful Gurung and Tamang villages and pass Siding village to Lwang. On the way, we will pass through beautiful views of rice fields and forests. Overnight at a guesthouse in Lwang.

From LwangGhalel, we catch a vehicle that takes us back to Pokhara city. Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara. And finally, our official trek is over.
